Combined with the legendary Cummins 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine, the automatic Tunland delivers an extremely smooth and lively performance.


The ZF transmission add to the Tunlands globally-reputed DNA in its major drive-train elements. In addition to Cummins and ZF these include BOSCH electronics and ABS with ESC, a BorgWarner transfer case and Dana axles and differentials.

Combined, these class-leading industry components produce an outstanding structure around which the Tunland is built.

    The Tunland combines robust, original styling with an assertive size to create a considerable on-road presence. It’s big ute stance signals and delivers stability. Standard exterior features include power body coloured side mirrors with integrated turning signals and front and rear mudflaps.


    Body contoured front bucket seats dominate the wide roomy cabin of the Tunland. The wide centre console has a deep lidded storage bin and two large cup holders which can be used as additional storage and concealed when not in use by closing the integrated sliding cover. Further in cabin storage areas include; an overhead flock-lined sunglasses case, a sizable glove box and door trims which incorporate drink bottle holders and large pockets. The standard leather trim steering wheel houses the cruise control, audio and Bluetooth® controls to allow for easy and unrestricted operation whilst maintaining an uninterrupted driving position. The Tunland audio system plays MP3 and WMA CDs and includes an AUX input and a Mini USB input for MP3 and WMA files. Music can also be streamed from Bluetooth® compatible devices.

    Air Conditioning, power windows, power door mirrors and remote two stage unlocking are all standard features on the Tunland range.

    The Tunland is the first light commercial vehicle in the world to be powered by a Cummins ISF engine, the latest edition to Cummins’ legendary range of powerful and reliable engines. The ISF 2.8 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel intercooled engine supplies the Tunland with 130kw of power @ 3,600rpm and a flat torque curve of 365Nm from 1,600rpm to 3,200rpm.

    The revolutionary design of the ISF balances performance with economy, achieving a combined fuel consumption of 8.9L per 100km*.

    Revolutionary Architecture – the design of the 2.8L engine provides high durability with low weight. Key features include a stiffer block, composite oil pan and valve cover and a rear gear train which results in lower noise, reduced harshness and vibration. The modular architecture allows for easy access and single side servicing, reducing operating costs.

    Electronic Control Module (ECM) – has a high processing capability maintaining an optimum balance between load demands, fuel-efficiency and emissions control.

    Electronic Integration – industry standard datalink accepts inputs from all powertrain components. This creates a seamless flow of high speed information between all vehicle systems.

    High Pressure Common Rail system – works at extremely high pressure and provides precise control of the combustion process. Capable of generating injection pressures that allow for refined and rapid power delivery, low noise and fuel efficient performance.

    Wastegated Turbocharger – developed by Cummins Turbo Technologies to provide excellent performance across the rpm range as well as improved response through higher low-end torque.

    Latest Engine Filtration – class leading oil and fuel filtration systems developed by Cummins for exceptional engine protection.

    Emissions Technology – Cummins meets global emission standards by adopting the right technology for each market’s emission limits, test cycles and operational factors. No other engine company has all of the critical sub-systems in-house; electronic control, air handling, fuel systems, combustion technology, filtration and exhaust treatment. The appropriate technologies are chosen for engines to not only meet the stringent emission levels but add substantial value to our customers.

    The automatic Tunland is fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission. ZF, based in Germany, are a global leader in drive line and chassis technology.

    All Tunland vehicles in New Zealand are fitted with DANA axles and differentials and a rear Limited Slip Differential (LSD).





    With a 950* payload, a 3 tonne braked towing capacity, a sizable cargo area and a rugged tray liner available as a factory fit option, the automatic Tunland is built for hard work or play.

    *Payload includes occupants, fuel and fitted options. The weight of these must be deducted from the payload to determine load carrying capacity. Front and rear axle loads must not be exceeded.





    The Tunland is equipped with driver and front passenger airbags and height adjustable, force limiting front seat belts with pre-tensioners as standard. Braking is dependable on varied surfaces through the BOSCH 4-channel Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Control(ESC).

    It’s wide track stance, double wishbone and coil spring independent front suspension and hydraulically power assisted rack and pinion steering deliver responsive and predictable handling even with a full payload.

    The body and chassis comprise a controlled collapse rate front end, protecting the cabin cell.


    Tunland’s remote entry is two-stage, with the first unlocking the driver’s door only, then the other doors with the second press. Additionally all windows close when the button is held down.
